Translation: A HUNDRED THOUSAND WELCOMES!
Where I got the background here and the salutations. Very good work
My children are the axis that my world revolves on.
Lord Scooby is the world.
May God keep them always.
If ever I should wish for a retreat, where I might steal
from the world and it's distractions and dream quietly
away the remnant of a troubled life it is with the
people I hold dearest to me: Rodney, Samantha & Jr.
How far you go in life depends on your being:
Tender with the Young,
Compassionate with the aged,
Sympathetic with the striving,
Tolerant of those who are weaker than you.
Because someday, you will be all of these.
George Washington Carver (d1920's)
What we do with our lives depends on our
motivation to do something with our lives.

I love music of all kinds with the exception of Gangster Rap. My love of music spans the 20th century and older. From Al Jolson of the early 20's to Creed of the late 90's and early 2000. I enjoy classical music as well as relaxation type music. Some of my favorites include Bob Seger's "TURN THE PAGE", Looking Glass' "BRANDY", too many songs by KISS to mention, but my favorite album of theirs is "THE ELDER" I also enjoy Celtic music immensely.
I enjoy reading for pleasure. All though most of what I read these days is autism related in one form or another. John Grisham's "A TIME TO KILL" has got to be a favorite. I enjoy the social commentary of the book and the fact that any parent would do the exact same thing regardless of race. Other favorite authors include Tom Clancy, Stephen King, Harper Lee, Mark Twain, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and Agatha Christie.
By birth I am of Irish/German ancestry. Below are my ancestral coat of arms. The left one is for the family Donovan, the right one for Delaney, and the one below is the McCarthy coat of arms.

There are several links that pertain to children and places they can go on the internet. The most important of these children sites in my opinion is the site that deals with the finding of missing and exploited children (found on the main page). If you check none of the rest of them out, please do look into that one.
Some educational sites (the for sale sign is a link to the US Constitution, Bill of Rights and additional amendments) and I know especially now some folks would get all indignant about the for sale sign representing this revered document but the truth of the matter is our own technology has been and is still being used against us. All at the hands of our own government officials selling it's people out for money. I guess it shouldn't really be much of a surprise. I mean what is that saying: THE GOLDEN RULE: THOSE THAT HAVE THE GOLD MAKE THE RULES! The American government isn't any different than any other with the one exception of WE DON'T LEARN FROM OUR MISTAKES!!

Below are some quotes that I try (and it gets harder everyday it seems) to live and guide my life by:
Pursue not the outer entanglements. Dwell not in the inner void, Be serene in the oneness of things, And dualism vanishes by itself. "On Trust in the Heart" Seng-t'-san (d606)
T he hunger for love is much more difficult to remove than the hunger for bread. If you judge people you have no time to love them.Mother Theresa (d09/05/97)
The Essence of Achievement: The credit belongs to those people who are actually in the arena....who know the great enthusiasm, the great devotions to a worthy cause and who at best know the triumph of high achievement; and who at worst, fail while doing greatly...so that their place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who know neither victory nor defeat. Theodore Roosevelt |

The following is a poem for every woman who has ever been hurt by anyone and one I hold dear to my heart...
After A While by Veronica A Stoffstall
After a while you learn, The difference between holding a hand and chaining a soul. And you learn that love doesn't mean leaning. And company doesn't always mean security. And you begin to learn, That kisses aren't contracts and presents aren't promises. And you begin to accept your defeats with your head up and your eyes ahead. With the grace of a woman Not the grief of a child. And you learn, to build all your roads on today because tomorrow's ground is too uncertain for plans and futures have away of falling down in mid-flight. After a while you learn, That even sunshine burns if you get too much. So you plant your own garden and decorate your own soul instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers. And you learn that you really can endure, That you really are strong, And you really do have worth. And you learn and you learn, with every goodbye you learn. |
The following I found while listening to the Irish Tenors.
John McDermott brought this song to life.
I put it here to honor my father who passed away
December 21st 1994.
Daddy I still think of you ever day, you still give me the
strength that I seek to get thru these trying times.
Thank You
The Old Man
The tears have all been shed now.
We've said our last goodbye,
His soul have been blessed,
He's laid to rest.
And it's now I feel alone.
He was more than just a Father,
A teacher, my best friend.
He can still be heard
In the tunes we shared
When I play them on my own.
I never will forget him
For he made me what I am.
Though he may be gone
Memories linger on
And I miss him, The Old Man.
As a boy, he'd take me walking
by mountain, field and stream
And he'd show me things
Not know to kings
And secret between him and me;
Like the colours on a pheasant
As he rises in the dawn
And how to fish
And make a wish
Beside a fairy tree.
I never will forget him
For he made me what I am.
Though he may be gone
Memories linger on
And I miss him, The Old Man.
I thought he'd live forever,
He seemed so big and strong,
But the minutes fly
And the years roll by
For a father and his son.
And suddenly when it happened
There was so much left unsaid.
No second chance
To tell him 'Thanks
For everything he'd done'.
I never will forget him
For he made me what I am.
Though he may be gone
Memories linger on
And I miss him, The Old Man.
