All though it is with great sadness that I have felt the need to close my group on yahoo after 7 years, the good news is that Stephen Chang my co-moderator and right hand for the past 2 years on A&V has decided to take on the task of Autism and Vaccinations by starting another A&V group. The new group can be found at: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/autism_and_vaccinations2 I wish him nothing but success and hopefully he will have better group participation with this new group than I had with the original one.

This browser has been a God send for our family. JR's interest in computers began with this browser. He is very independent with his computer now. |

To Autism Hope The reason I have dedicated the last nine years of my life to the issues of autism and vaccinations is:
My son was born in 1997 and my daughter in 1994. In 1991 Merck executives received an internal memo from the biggest vaccine developer of the day stating that the effects of thimerasol (a mercury preservative) would begin to cause neurological damage to the brains of developing babies. For the actual article that was published in the LA Times on February 8 2005 click here. Below is the link to David Kirby's controversial book concerning the autism and mercury link. He also covers what the government knew, when they knew it and when they decided to cover it up.
Also check out Jenny McCarthy's book Louder than Words. About life raising a child with autism. To begin your journey to the rest of the website select the page you would like to go to from the links below.

Non- Autism Sites
Originally this site was begun as a personal web page with a photo album of horses. That was over 10 years ago. Allot has happened in that time. Obviously the most profound thing would be our son's diagnosis of autism. Prior to that we were just skating along in life with no real direction (or worries). His autism has given us a new awareness of how precious life really is and a new drive to right a horrible wrong being done to our children. However, even with this drive a person can lose their perspective. A few years ago and for the very first time since Jr's diagnosis I was told that Jr is a little boy with autism not an autistic little boy. This may sound like hair splitting but it's really not. Autism is a condition he has but it's NOT the defining aspect of who he is. He is still a person first. Sometimes when you battle the political, educational, medical and insurance machines you have a tendency to lose that focus. And it would be easier no doubt to maintain the proper perspective if we didn't have to constantly battle these machines into doing what they morally know is the right thing. But the reality of any disorder or disease is this: DOING WHAT IS FINANCIALLY CORRECT ALWAYS; ABSOLUTELY ALWAYS OUTWEIGHS WHAT IS MORALLY RIGHT! UNTIL PEOPLE TAKE ACTION TO FORCE THE MORALLY RIGHT COURSESo my wish is the same as many parents and what Kathy Blanco put so eloquently when she said: "I hope there is a special place in Heaven For any child whose life here on Earth was Hell And a special place in Hell for those who made it so!!" This site is graphic intensive and may take some time to load if you are using a dialup ISP, please be patient. If you just scroll down to my picture and click on it, you will be shown a way to e-mail me. You also have an option of e-mailing me or talking with me via AIM. Please also keep in mind that this site like the one that came before (Delp's Hope Page) is a labor of love. And like love this too will take time to nurture. Check back often as things will be updated regularly. In the mean time if you care to drop me a line with any comments, suggestions or the like please sign the guestbook directly below my picture.
